Goodbye a 99 word story for Charli Mills at carrotranch.wordpress.com

“Goodbye” never came easily to her lips, it was so hard to even think that they may not meet again, so she always said, “Till we meet again!” and hoped the same too.

Whenever she said those words she meant it, if she said goodbye to someone that clearly meant goodbye.

His heart stopped for a second when she uttered those words and closed the door.

He returned again and again but they never met, he could hear her inside but she was never home for him, after years of trying to please him she finally told him goodbye.

A gust of wind made the swing moan, as if it was aching for those little kids that kept it busy all day! Where were they? The swing wondered. He could no longer hear their screams and shouts as they ran around him, chasing one another.

Not too far away, just outside the playground they were huddled inside a bunker, as their parents waited for the all clear siren from the military camp.

A crow flew from its nest and settled down on the swing, cawing raucously. With people gone the world was all his.

He basked in sunshine.

Anger for Carrot Ranch

“Anger issue? I have anger issue!!!!” she grumbled within, “Yeah sure I do, but from where did all that anger came? Where is that shy teenager who could not speak back when abused by her own siblings brazenly? I buried her deep inside ribcage. I could not become cunning, manipulative so I covered my softness with fake anger, then with time that became real… Sometimes I was so angry that I scared myself. Then I realized that if I don’t change myself I will destroy my life, I changed within but kept the façade, it keeps predators at bay!”

July 13, 2016 prompt: In 99 words (no more, no less) write a story using the emotion of anger. You can express it without naming it, or write a story about it. Challenge yourself to think about how we accept or deny anger. Is there a warning? Is there a resolution? You can write humorously, seriously or ironically about anger.

Pingpong for CarrotRanch

She had an angelic aura in her. Three white and brown kittens, two were stolen or adopted by someone she stayed, to soothe my heart for a couple of years.

She just adored her human friend (or mother?), as a child she jumped around the house like a white ball inviting the nickname. The only cat with blue eyes in the neighbourhood.

For some reason her babies never survived but she became mother of every cat in the household, she nursed her siblings at first and finally adopted a stray.

She had the sweetest heart in the entire household!

Home for Carrotranch

Home! A simple structure of cement, bricks and some other ingredients… sometimes it is mud instead of cement… but that is not what a home is!

A home is that place which fills your heart up with peace when you open its door. Once you bind your soul with one specific home then that bond never breaks.

Such was her case! She found her ultimate home, time took her away from there, the bridges crashed, snatching away any chances of return but she could not make any other house her home.

Even though some were much trendier than Home.

99 word story for carrrotranch.com 🙂 this week’s theme for flash fiction is “Home”
