the heart beats on 2020 in Kindle

The heart beats on
https://www.amazon.com/dp/b00ztn8z1e

It is a collection of poems of various taste. The poems of this book were written in 2015, when I was in Hyderabad. So the contents of this book has been edited only. I plan to keep most of the poems of this book, even in coming years, as a memory of that awesome time I passed in Hyderabad. Some memories should be cherished! Those months in Hyderabad is one of those memories to me!

The poems in this book reflect my mood of that time. Hope they will touch you!

They are versatile, as all other collections of mine. You will get many hues of life within these jackets. The general mood of this book I believe is happy things, real or fantastical. You know I can’t stay away from fantastical creatures and nature!

Do drop a line after reading them please!

crystal eyes 2020 in Kindle

Crystal Eyes

Only the title story is same as before, the rest of the stories have changed, the genres and moods are versatile as usual, light, dark and very dark stories are included in this year’s compilation.

There are stories about magical beings, ghosts, vampires, things good and bad magic can do and sometimes if not always what happens to them who meddle with magic.

Don’t forget to share your views after reading.

WORDS LEFT BY READERS (ABOUT THE PREVIOUS ISSUE)
Crystal Eyes – Review by Troy David Loy
https://www.amazon.com/author/troyloy

Crystal Eyes: In the title story, Prabhat has collected an unusual find at a curio shop, and has recurring dreams of a young woman from long ago. He discovers a trap laid by an evil magician, a tantric, to take or to destroy the woman of those dreams. This one has a sad ending, but very well done.

Ye have been warned 2: First, in Warning 11, a young girl gets attacked by giant monster Snapdragons after trying to pick them, then in Warning 12, “The Smell from Hell,” there are the unpleasant results of a curse of red ice (Yew!), in Warning 13, a seemingly deserted house gets scoped by movie producers, only to prove actually haunted, and NOT available to rent for shooting! In Warning 14, “Scarecrow Nights,” cats and other local pets must be kept indoors on certain nights, or they are never seen again! In Warning 15: “Howler Nights,” a small town must vacate the vicinity on certain nights of the year, or get no sleep. In Warning 16, “You will see her only once!” a local pleasure house offers girls whose Faces May Not Be Seen, or dire things await the beholder! In Warning 17: “Peep through keyhole and ye shall be hexed!” A peeping Tom gets his “reward” for being more curious than he should. These were fun!

Reality Fairytale exposure 1: Snow:
Young Trinca finds a magic book in a secondhand shop, and strikes up a friendship of sorts with it, as it tells her twisted versions of otherwise familiar stories beginning with a new take on Snow White. This is different! Appetite whetted!

In Reality Fairytale exposure 2: Cinders:
Trinca hears another story from her magic book, this time an unusual version of Cinderella, and in my view, a much more interesting one. I liked these two stories especially, and would like to see others in the same vein in future books, perhaps with Indian fairy tales as well, as those would be fun!

Over all: I’ve enjoyed the previous version of this book, and this edition is even better!

By your good old editor! Few words about the works of my much cherished authors. So the critiques will be honest, short and sweet!

Kalipuja by Labanya: What a beauty. It captured the purity and beauty of Kalipuja perfectly.

Will Bengal shine again by saptarchi: This question haunts all Bengalis that love their culture! Things have improved a bit under TMC but with saffron brigade’s eyes glued on Bengal the hearts are fluttering! If they ever come to power that will be the darkest day for Bengal.

Fogline by Brieuc Martin Onraet 7: Another piece of hilarious conversation between those who have created human beings and their boss. I wonder how human beings would have looked if they had feathers!

Faithmark by Raghunandan Kuppuswamy: Quite an interesting story, well, instant reward for listening to a holy man. Hope he won’t become greedy and ruin the blessing.

Passing of the torch by Troy David Loy: Meera is developing quite intriguingly, I will absolutely enjoy to read the book in which she is the central character or one of the main characters.

Heart has love… by Dom Collucci: beautiful poem filled with wisdom.

Bitter Pill dose 36 by Bitter Pill: Secular India 3: This is a complain many Indians have had in past and will have in future, Indian secularism is really not unbiased, the way it should be!

The return by Brendan: Great piece, our beginning and end are so much similar indeed.

The Tilbaroo station by Pat Ritters 4: Looks like bride’s father has given a very good wedding gift, a gift that will keep his son in law and daughter and their coming generations prosperous for years. Beautifully written piece!

I believe that will be it for my critique as an editor, you will have to read the rest in Ezine. Of course there is truckloads of more works there!

Hi friends, let us begin!

Ashwin issue begins with tribute to Nagarjuna, have heard his name many times but did not have any clue about what his field of accomplishments was, now I know.

Will Bengal shine again by saptarchi: Well chances are really slim and it will become negative if saffron brigade wins in next elections, they are already instigating violence in the state, heaven only knows what they will do if they grab the power!

Fogline by Brieuc Martin Onraet 7: Thank God that we don’t have feathers!

Faithmark by Raghunandan Kuppuswamy: This was a cool story, hope he won’t become greedy!

Passing of the torch by Troy David Loy: Yet another piece on Troy’s favorite, Meera, sounds like an interesting character. I will really love to read more stories about her.

Heart has love… by Dom Collucci: another wise and beautiful poem by Dom Collucci.

Bitter Pill dose 36 by Bitter Pill: Secular India 3: India’s secularism needs a makeover, it has been seventy years since those laws have been written, lot has changed ever since, so maybe the appropriate scholars sit down with these laws and see which one should stay and which one should go. Not politicians- scholars should write the new set down.

The return by Brendan: Great piece.

The Tilbaroo station by Pat Ritters 4: This piece takes a walk with the young couple as they assess their new lands, a good gift from father in law it seems!

Treats:

Wish you all a happy festive season, lovely greeting Sharmishtha!

5 lovely shots- from Agni’s October photography loved them all.

This month Linkedin Requests shares poet Miguel’s social media details, will check them out and see if they are in English!

The drover by Pat Ritter: Sounds like a good story.

Pikatron by Troy David Loy sounds like a great reading material with fractals as added beauty!

SBs’ book in amazon, The child of woods sounds like a nice fantasy story, absolutely worth checking out.

Star of the Month Angoorbala- I guess most Indians have heard her name, she is a legend, will check out her songs ASAP in YouTube.

Star of West Denzel Washington: He is one handsome guy, some of his movies are too violent for me but his roles always leave a mark.

Star of east Shabana Azmi- A great actress with great soul. She is quite brave and sort of activist.

Youtubia-Abhisar Sharma- He is really brave! God keep him safe from thugs and goons!

Minutes Together: Good evening miss was a really sad story with a very good message for teachers.

Loved the Bengali poem and the hindi poem both. Thank you for adding my work Kalipuja in your ezine Agni.

Revati- Thoroughly enjoyed the story! Have read it as a child, enjoyed it back then and now too.

TnW- true, there is nothing wrong in stealing a little time from one task to do another task.

Scaredy Stick- True again Mr. Stick, your fears are quite valid.

The sketches all through the ezine were pretty, very colourful and lovely.

That is it I guess! See you again next month, and thank you Agni/Sharmishtha for translating my works!

Yours sincerely,
Labanya

Critique by Labanya

Agnijaat Kartik 1427, October 2020

https://shoptly.com/i/bujh

Agnijaat Kartik begins with Durgapuja greeting, a pretty and simple one. Wish you all a very blessed Durgapuja and upcoming festive seasons. Stay safe and celebrate with caution.

Indie Author Speaks: It is a really good tip, and I am planning to keep a note too. I will try to jot down my plans for future and what happened to them meticulously.

FTQFS: Another piece of gem from the quill of a single woman. There are these pathetic losers all over the world that love to corrupt good people for fun better beware if you are good!

Techbabble: Everyone possesses a smartphone these days and majority have linked their financial transactions to it, what a joy it must be for hackers and freeloaders!

Servitude and Kolkata blues: Quite interesting point of view indeed, if one looks back one will agree with the authoress that it is us Indians who kept us slaves to British, not British, they were far outnumbered by us! In Kolkata blues a harsh reality of West Bengal have been exposed. How it has been sold away by corrupt politicians post-independence.

SOS: Absolutely true, no one is without pain, we should remember it when we are in pain.

Intriguing Tales: Foot in mouth- loved the story! I have not read the story of Shumbha and Nishumbha before, have heard their names only.

History of India: Another interesting piece of Indian history, about population density of different regions and reasons of that.

My Pen: wake up India 2: This one too conveys some very serious thoughts about current scenario of India, the unholy matrimony of press and rulers of India are poisoning the country very rapidly. Anyone who reads newspapers or checks out news sites can see how they are misguiding people. No one will have to point it out to them.

Fun and Frolic section:

Hollywood by Pat Ritter: This one sounds like a great, fascinating story.

SBPnB Book 10 flowers: Sounds like a beautiful book with lots of illustrations. Maybe, I will ask for these books in return of critique.

Pikatron April 2019 critique by Editor: Will have to get the newsletter from Troy or Agni.

Top ten characters: Authoress shared her favorite characters from the books, novels she have read, both English and Bengali, some I am familiar with others not.

Indian Raga Now:

Johrabai- She is a great singer, heard a few of her songs in YouTube and loved them.

SPOTLIGHT ON- Kenny G- Will have to check out his music.

Window to West – Wild Target: Sounds like fun, I love good comedy movies a lot!

Ashwin Shots: Four gorgeous shots, maybe Agni should add a few more from the next issue onwards.

Youtube channel: Already checked them all out.

Storytime: Snakeman from Patreon: This time a piece of the long story from SBPnB, it would have been fun to have a little bit more to read, the name is intriguing!

Durgapuja: Finally it is coming!

Theme: Mermaids- Seven beautiful paintings.

The cartoon Mr Stick: It is sad how poor people never get the help they should from the governments of third world countries. They have to become aware of their own rights!

In the end quite enjoyed the Ezine, and its colourful sketches/paintings especially they are refreshing and pretty!

That is it I guess! See you again next month, and thank you Agni/Sharmishtha for translating my works!

Yours sincerely,
Labanya
