Proposal A man proposes to his bride-to-be, and convinces her that he’s the one for her!

Puja Pujita Verma is hardly the nicest of women, and when she tries to have her way with the man of her dreams, her spoiled nature gets in the way, destroying his love for her, and her life with him.

Punishment There’s a triangle between Sabuj, Tannishtha, and Sneha, and much ugliness between the latter two! When Sneha tries to destroy Tannishtha and steal Sabuj, does the tide turn? What happens when Sabuj tells Tannishtha what’s going on? Most enjoyable!

Pure evil Two men discuss the plotting of an evil daughter, and her and her family’s destruction and poisoning death of a girl. One of those men is accused by the other of a plot to destroy the girl and others, and NOT without good reason!

Quagmire Sanjay and Seema have a problem: their love is almost universally reviled and punished by society. Soon, the one begins punishing the other as their love fades! Does Seema escape from Sanjay’s newfound cruelty?

Ragini A young girl from Bihar tries to make it big in the Kolkata film industry, but soon finds it less than she expected when she becomes the mistress of a second-string director! After finally hooking a man she truly loves, does she get her wish?

Ramesh Juhi and Ramesh are close, and when Juhi is struck by a car, Ramesh is the one who’s there for her. Does love blossom between them?

Random act of kindness 3.11.10 Haru in Mumbai likes to read, an act he’s frequently punished for while attending work at the kiln. Does Haru get a real chance to study, despite the poverty of his family?

Rashi Jayanta wants to marry Arindam’s younger sister, but his parents disagree, and want him to marry another instead! How does this turn out? Do the parents acquiesce?

Ratri Ratri is in love with her manager, Deependra, over the desires of Jatak, a millionaire, and Deependra’s boss. Does she win the prize of her heart, or does money sway her instead? I like how this one turns out!

Rebels Rajnagar is in trouble, as its king, Rudradaman, is aging and without heirs. There are dacoits about in the kingdom, and things are not looking well! When one of his ministers suggests that the people are in cahoots with the robbers, a lone man appears in the night to investigate, and finds this is true! Who is this man, and what is the fate of those villagers he looks into? I loved the way this ended, and it is easily my favorite from this issue! It has the feel of an Indian Fairy Tale!

Red heart Ramya has a problem: too much heart for most people! When Vishnu, a co-worker, shows interest in her, he seems sincere…for a time! Priti shows her what’s really going on with him, and it’s not a good thing for Ranya’s feelings!

Red roses Young Lekha is the de facto captive of a lecherous old owner of the theater where she works, but a much younger man has won her love! Do the two young ones elope, despite the vile desires of the old lecher? This one is a fitting end to this month’s collection!

One rainy evening A young woman, a “computerwali,” braves torrential weather while she journeys to the bus station from work. Does she survive the terrible weather?

One romance, two twists Nat and Mahua have a thing going between them, but the triangle is completed by one Rekha, and complicated by Nat’s past with her. When he now is obsessed with Mahua, does his relationship with his parents and inheritance still hold?

Our deed The Infamous Trio riff on the poisoned romance of Jayant and Bina, wed without dowry. Family and friends barred from her parents-in-law home for her status, she slowly turns on and divorces her spouse after having more than enough of ill treatment. What happens when Jayant remarries with his parents’ consent?

Our God Ratna discovers Meera, a young dalit woman and child hiding from pursuers in her car, and drives from the scene with them. After saving them, she finds out why, do things work out for the better for all?

Of Thrones and palaces A deposed, impoverished queen, struggles for her family, with dignity and principles intact. When Tamanna is writing a book on Indian royals, and sees the queen praying in a temple without a home. She sees her one last moment, but does Tamanna realize the woman is royalty?

Perseverance is not worthiness Mahesh was adopted from poor parents, by his wealthy aunty, but lacks any real strength of character. As a lifelong chronic complainer does he find love anyway? When his brother Ramesh and young Nellie are in love with each other, Mahesh tries to part the two lovers through trickery and employment blackmail, and then his malice and obsession grow. But his plan backfires when his foster parents realize his efforts, and punish him accordingly. well written, this one!

Petty things Aravind and Sukesh are best friends, and when Sukesh gives food to a starving poor man at a woman’s, Sneha’s, ask for generosity toward the man. When other destitute people gather for similar generosity, things go better than otherwise for them, as the donations of food and clothes snowball within months, when things work out for all, destitute and employed alike.

Pig pen Tinni and Tusi talk about life to, with, and among pigs when Tinni’s father threatens to throw her in the pen. Why is this? This one is an interesting take from the perspective of the very young! Much more realistic than Charles Schultz’s “Peanuts.”

Pigs When life as a pig or pig farmer becomes a topic of conversation between Mohit and Sohan, it turns to the matter of two girls, Gina and Regina, and the matter of the two is brought home for Sohan.

Playing with fire This is a story within a story, when Pradeep hears the tale of young Priya who falls prey to a conniving predator. Pradeep gives her parents a piece of his mind about raising their daughter!

Poisonous minds The Infamous Trio gossip, this time over the stalking of a young woman by a John Shah who drove away those who truly love her, but could not destroy her integrity.

Prince and the ordinary man Two women discuss the merits of two men, Madhavesh and Sukesh, and which of the two would make the better groom.

Missed chance An older man, nicknamed “Grumps” gets a stern talking to about trying to win back a younger flame who now wants naught to do with him.

Missing persons list Young Moyna is missing, possibly abducted on her way to school. What is going on, and can they find her before it’s too late? Who is responsible? When a wealthy woman seems connected to this and other disappearances mysteriously vanishes herself, only to reappear elsewhere, the hunt is on! While the missing girls are yet to be found by the end, I found this story a good way to raise social consciousness on this very sort of thing happening in real life!

Money and love Smriti and Anirban are coworkers, and seem perfect for each other in other ways as well. Smriti has ideas of her own, but refrains from romancing him. After he helps her find a new job elsewhere, they meet again, much to the delight of them both!

Money, money, money When Chandra finds a dream job in another state, things seem peachy…until suspicions of something terrible going on arise. While the guilty parties do get their comeuppance by the end, it would be interesting to read in more detail how that happened!

Monsters A human trafficking racket has been investigated by the police for years, and when officer Chandraneel decides to tackle the ring another way, less direct, one that perhaps will succeed where the law has failed!

Mother Mahesh and Uma have trouble having children despite their undying love. But a child indeed comes through another channel in the form of a foundling discovered by Mahesh! Named Esha, the child grows into a young woman studying at university, meets a stranger with connections to her – by birth! Is this her true mother? The phrase “true mother” is a little tricky when it comes to being abandoned as a child!

Natraj Sneha falls for a local teacher, her feelings only growing, until she notices a gap in his facade of chastity! She soon falls OUT of love, in a most liberating way. This one I enjoyed.

Nice family Mohit and Dinesh discuss the relationship of Mohit’s son to one Mrinalini, who may not be as she appears…or IS she? Does she turn out to be the genuine article, and is the real trickster is revealed?

Nightmare in suburbia There is a plot, involving blackmailed pawns as partners, or perhaps just minions, in crime. Here are two related stories of skullduggery done in service to a vile puppet master.

Now or never The Infamous Trio, Mrs. Gupta, Mrs. Ghosh, and Mrs. Sinha gather again to gossip, this time about shy Ramesh and Sophia. Do they call Ramesh to talk, and find his real reasons for not pursuing Sophia? Do they manage to convince him anyway? This one was fun!

Nymph A demon decides to lounge about on a peaceful day in the form of a bird, and gets shot! When a gentle hand picks him up, and his injuries are cared for, he cannot forget this good turn done to him! He falls for young Tamalika, seeking marriage, but her parents will have none of it! When a demon’s attraction is motivated by something much baser than love, what is he to do? Seek revenge, of course! But does it work as planned? What happens when he sends a nymph to seduce her?

Love almost lost Dibyo falls for Supti, and the more this dawns on him, the more he struggles to cope with the stress of suppressing it as his health declines. When Supti tires of her treatment at Dibyo’s office, she opts to leave, to escape Dibyo’s toxic parents. But Dibyo has a plan, and not one his parents would prefer, to save his love for Supti.

Love confessed A young man declares his love for the girl of his dreams, a declaration that turns out well, as she feels likewise for him. This one ends well.

Love is in the air Shuchi, Joy, and Tinni are friends, and Tinni notices that one loves the other. Will she succeed as matchmaker between them? An enjoyable short story.

Love net How to entrap strong people? A defense minister describes his plan to entrap them with love and lust through handpicked seducers and seductresses. What thoughts does this idea lead to in the prime minister? I’d say suspicious ones!

Magic Reva has a problem involving toxic siblings who exploit her at every turn. What does she do to escape this, to stand on her own, to actualize herself as a fulfilled person? Seeking work at a local orphanage, she draws her plans for a better life.

Love twists Maitreyee spurns Amal, for his uncultured behavior in public, and when he marries another instead, befriends his bride. The two friends discuss love, friendship and their meaning when Maitreyee herself marries.

Manager Mr. Dwivedi is in a business fix, and plots to change that by arrangement with one Mr. Jain. What scheme hatches between the two of them, with strings attached? Dwivedi’s “niece” looks like the solution to his problems!

Mandukraj Two women converse on the intrusive and venomous Vinod, “King of the Frogs” after he attempts a campaign of vindictive behavior. If there be a thing such as Karma, might “Mandukraj” actually have become a frog? The one gawking at the two while they speak might have something to say on that, could it speak!

Tiasa An accident leaves Chaiti disabled, and bitter, but young Tiasa can help, and help she does, making Chaiti much better for it despite her scarred persona!

Girlfriend slayer Debendra is disabled, with a twisted leg, with his mother extremely protective of him, and even in manhood is shy and lonely. What happens when he meets the lovely Mira? Will love blossom, or will it die before it can truly get started?

Miss Bittermouth Seema is intensely disliked at her work office for verbal bullying, and the four young women she tormented give her a parting gift after they arrange to leave the office for another with friendlier staff. What will this gift be? Very amusing, this one!

Meaning of life Mohini is in her forties and yet unmarried, so how does she create meaning in her life despite her circumstances? This one was heartwarming.

Letting go Ahana and Kankana speak to each other of a tragic affair involving the marriage of a friend to one Banalata and of the unearned disrepute this gave Kankana.

Life Chitra wins a land-seizure case against her late parents’ property manager, despite numerous failed attempts on her life. Chitra uses her case winnings to begin a charity organization to provide housing for the poor. A good one.

Light A young blind girl teaches other blind children life skills, including vocational, after an incident with one Mahesh which lead her on that path.

Light in the darkness Young Parna wants to marry Yash, who suffers an accident, and when Yash refuses Parna’s offer of marriage, at least at first, Parna softens his resolve by reminding him of the meaning of marriage as a union of souls, not bodies.

Lion and Hyena Rushali is in a curious fix. With various men feigning interest in her, yet retaining distance, she becomes involved in a plot involving a cat-and-mouse game by two men, Mahindra and Sukhwinder, using her friends and coworkers. The wrap up at the end was rather satisfying.

Lost childhood Chandni leaves home to live with her aunt, rebelling and going AWOL when things get less than pleasant, and not good for her education. Suspcion flies when Chandni becomes pregnant in her twenties, leading to a suicide attempt. But what’s really going on? When her aunt isn’t her aunt, and her mother is not her mother, the hidden truth of Chandni’s life is revealed!

Love abused A love triangle turns sour for Sajal when the woman he thinks he loves chooses to marry their manager, leaving him cold after he drives away shy Revanti, perhaps the only woman who really loved him.

Love and lust Sujit has a rather rough life as an adoptee, and while in Tejnagar gets involved in a proxy rivalry with his “brother” Pratik over the pretty Raina. Sujit is not the best looking fellow around, but his superior moral character and authentic personality win Raina’s heart to Pratik’s ultimate dismay. Liked this one a lot!

Love and other feelings Two people discuss the topic of love, what is, what isn’t, and to whom it should be given. Things get complicated fast when the neuro-atypical are involved, with scheming parents to stir the pot!

Love is not enough Abhilash and Ashok are friends, and when Abhilash visits his friend’s remote village, he meets the gorgeous Leela, immediately falling for her, then wedding her before the pair moves to Kolkata. But love loses it’s appeal when Leela shows more of her differences from her husband. When the marriage sours from these differences, Ashok advises Abhilash on the best course for both partners. Does their marriage last?

Justice Rumi meets a stranger who regularly attends her performances, a mysterious man who seems quite smitten with her. He seems rather odd, not the typical bar customer, but polished and cultured, and has an unusual request: to read the diary of a woman dead by her own hand after the schemes of another! But is this man truly fallen for her, or is there some other motive? Would like to see a follow-up story where the motive plays out!

Kamal Kamal is deceived by promise of marriage to another, another who has no intent to fulfill said promise. Her pregnancy from this sham results in a daughter. She returns to her hometown an outcaste from society and years later, leaves to marry elsewhere. What of her daughter, many years later? She’s met by Medha, who knew Kamal, and a marriage between the daughter, Sujata, and Medha’s son is arranged.

Karuna Preeti encounters a bundle in a local park, thinking it kittens, but in fact an abandoned baby. After years of pining for a child, what does she make of this? After adopting the child, years pass, and she, named Karuna, takes up her mother’s trade in a design studio. Karuna meets someone, Jay Sen, an artist she’s long admired; what results from this? With the disapproval of Jay’s family, Jay wishes marriage, which goes through anyway, and things shift for Jay’s parents. This one ends nicely for all involved!

Kashish Kashish and Suman are sisters, and when Deepak notices and then begins seeing Kashish, to the consternation of Suman, and the initial disapproval of his parents, does Deepak overcome this obstacle? This one I rather enjoyed.

King meets Queen Tapesh and Jishnu gossip about a suspected murderer of two previous wives getting married again, but does the one suspected get another opportunity to murder again from this third marriage? It doesn’t end favorably for him, as his third wife is better prepared!

Kitso Mili finds an abandoned kitten, and chooses to rescue him. The kitten turns out to be rather feisty but develops a close friendship with Mili’s dog. Does he stay or leave as he grows? I liked this one!

Komal Shubham is married to Rani, each the opposite of the other, and neither happy with the arrangement. Their young daughter, Komal, holds them together, but for how long? When Rani leaves both father and daughter, there is at first relief, and then Shubham meets an old college flame, and love is rekindled for both.

Life goes on Smita meets young Mishtu, a child of her neighbor Jayanta, with a complex past marriage, and as they get to know each other, things get interesting. This one was good.

Kiss the frog The Infamous 3 gossip of the success of young Karuna in her marriage to one Amrut. Their object of ridicule is the froglike Sohan, who ends up failing to prevent the marriage despite trying. His description reminds me of some of the seedier movie roles played by the late Peter Lorre

Lucifer’s liegemen or Kingmaker in Kindle on 26.4.20

Lucifer’s liegemen- Kingmaker
https://www.amazon.com/dp/b0876w7xbw

Lucifer’s Liege-men aka Kingmaker will be published on 26th April, will share the url after that.

This book will cost quite a bit more than my usual books, hope that wont bother you!

It will cost you $5.00 but I will reduce the price on its first anniversary I promise!

Kingmaker is a story I have written for years and then kept it in hold to work more on it, now I am rewriting it but I believe the original is absolutely worth publishing. It is a reality based crime story, pretty grim and realistic. It is fantasy version of Charon, it is purely fictional but most of it is based on actual criminal activities and my own guesses about the probable reasons behind things that happened to me. I can’t say it is enjoyable but I do hope it will make you ponder over many things, the same things that triggered this novel.

K and his faithful servants are spread all over the world, a spiteful, deranged man who has risen to scary height of power and is now out to ruin goodness from earth, his target are all good people in this world, his motto is either lower yourself down to his level or die, get destroyed beyond repair.

You do think it is a work of fiction, don’t you? But are you sure? Look at the way human society is spiraling downwards in an alarming rate, are you sure there is no group of puppeteer working globally behind your back?

Well, believe what you believe! I won’t be surprised at all! Maybe, it is time that the way crooks have united good people should too!
